Duality and Nonduality

Duality exists at the center of all things, often referred to as shadow and light, good and evil, or yin and yang, and refers to the concept of opposite cosmic principles or forces that interact, interconnect, support, and perpetuate each other.
These ideas are complementary and at the same time opposing forces that together form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the assembled parts, and the parts are essential for the cohesion of the whole. In Chinese creative theory, the universe develops out of a primary chaos of material energy, organized into the cycles of yin and yang, force and motion, leading to form and matter.
Integration of these poles within our own consciousness can lead to heightened states of being, but only those who dare to look through the mirror will step through to the other side.
